Assistant Manager
Store Manager, Area Manager, Area Support Manager
Circa £24,000 per annum
To assist the Store Manager in ensuring the effective day-to-day operations of the store, driving sales to meet and exceed targets. To support the leadership of a team in an environment where everything we do is for our customer.
Responsibilities Customer
- Put the customer first and act as a role model
- Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained at all times
- Support the coaching and development of the team to approach customers and
convert the sale
- Know your market customer type and drive customer loyalty
- Understand the key trends and identify customers’ needs
- Reward and recognise great service at every opportunity
- Drive ATV and conversion to achieve Company targets
Sales, Profit and Cost
- Act as Duty Manager with full responsibility in Store Manager’s absence
- Influence and control all store KPIs, budgets, wage costs and expenses
- Highlight & feedback commercial opportunities to Store Manager
- Look at driving LFL and maximising profit at every opportunity
- Ensure store teams achieve their stock loss targets and manage write offs to Company guidelines
- Take appropriate action to improve sales performance of store & individual
- Accountable and responsible for administration policies and procedures e.g. cash
handling, stocktake, security
- Accountable and responsible for all Health & Safety procedures
- 100% compliance to store standards
- Complete all daily paperwork including wall planner, scorecards and performance
trackers
- Run the floor ensuring operational and sales standards are maintained
Visual Merchandising
- Keep updated with our product and key fashion trends and what’s happening on the high street
- Network with you competitors or centre, to drive commercial opportunities
- Actively promote the brand by wearing the product
- Set a high benchmark on all retail standards and strives to be the first choice for fashion value in their town or centre

- Ensure compliance to the Company’s visual guidelines and deliver consistently in your store
- Regularly review windows, store environment and layout for customer shop-ability
- Manage daily replenishment, option & size checks and taking appropriate action
where needed
- Effectively plan and ensure promotions & window schemes are actioned in line with
Company guidelines
People
- Ensure positive and constructive feedback is given to the team to drive improved performance
- Reward and recognise top performance
- Assist in the recruitment of the best people to deliver on customer service and
convert sales
- Support the Store Manager with carrying out effective inductions, coaching on non-
negotiables and performance review
- Support the training and development of staff in selling techniques and general
duties i.e. cash handling, customer service, house keeping
- Ensure the team achieve the required standard of conduct and job performance
Skills & Experience
- Sales focused with keen understanding of what great retail standards look like
- Shop floor based 90% of the time
- Maintain integrity at all times
- Commercial, results driven, understands KPIs and how to drive them
- Has the ability to act and operate on their own initiative to deputise for line manager
- Has effective communication, time management, planning and organisational skills
- Self-awareness and self-development

- Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control
